Autumnal Qi Gong Under the Willow Tree

The willow tree is the ultimate holder of grief and pain - unlike other trees, its branches fall down and meet us where we are, in our pain and our grief. This beautiful afternoon was shared among women at Eunoia’s inaugural retreat in the beautiful Ourika Valley, right outside of Marrakech, Morocco. We explored movements that helped bring in what serves us, reminds us of what is good, beautiful, and precious. We also were invited to let go of what may not be serving us anymore. Even in our resistance, there is a lesson there that there may be more wisdom to extract before it is ready to be composted to the Earth.

“Witness the palpable power of the sisterhood circle and the calming energy of the weeping willow that made this a momentous morning exercise. Wajida spoke of the seasons that capture certain energetics and how all four exist in us, all the time. In the summer, we are exuberant and expansive like the sun. In the winter, we cave in and close into ourselves. In the autumn, Wajida explains that it is the season of letting go of something that may have served a purpose at one time, but now it’s time to let it go. A daunting task for some of us and this workshop helped us take the first step. Thank you healer Wajida for sharing your wisdom with us 🤲🏼” - @eunoia_chapters
